Kirk > Sean and I climbed to the summit of Timpanogos and then decided rather than returning via the normal trail we would slide down the glacier. It was a little scary but cut the 12 hour hike by about 30 minutes.
Kirk > Looking back at the Hotel Del Coronado from the beach.
Kirk > This was a lucky shot. We were in Old Town State Park in San Diego and this street performer was playing his banjo for some children. I pressed the shutter at the split second he spun the banjo and then continued on with the song. While I was there he didn't repeat the move so this was truly a right place at the right time sort of shot
Kirk > Long story short - I saw that my son Sean and the goat were going to meet at the corner of the stone building. Sean had no idea what was about to happen. I had just enough time to capture the expression on his face when they actually saw each other. The moment was priceless.
Kirk > I was in an antique shop at the base of the Bingham Copper Mine, the largest open pit mine in the U.S. and saw this gear detail. I have no idea what it is but found the detail and contrast interesting and took the shot.
Kirk > State Street at 40 MPH
Kirk > This was a very narrow, long trail along a river bed that only has water in the spring and when there are flash floods. Lisa didn't like it because it was so rough.
Kirk > 12/30 - I tried to ski behind Sonja and Jessica and take pictures at the same time. It worked pretty well. In this photo you can also get a better feel for the ski runs as they cut through the pines.
Kirk > 1/22 - Friday night and Saturday morning I was in the mountains about 15 minutes from our home camping with a bunch of Boy Scouts. We slept in the snow in 0 degree temperatures. I took this shot in the morning just after the sun came up and the mountain fog started to clear.
