One photo a day for 365 days - one year! I've wanted to try this for a long time so here we go. Surely I will struggle to find subjects to shoot but it will be interesting to see how it works out. I don't expect my best work, but I do expect to sharpen my eye to see more around me, and hopefully the process to compose the mundane will improve my photography overall. I will try and post my shots at least a couple times each week if not better. Enjoy.

Kirk > 10/22/07 – We got a new grandpuppy and Chip got a new brother. Late last night Logan and Kristen drove to Paul, Idaho to buy this 8-week-old dog. He is the same breed as chip (check out the two images on 4/24 to see Chip at this age). This guy is even smaller than Chip. You get a feel for his size compared to Lisa’s hands – he is just a small ball of fur. His name is Oslo, as in Oslo, Norway.
Kirk > 10/21/07 – A big snowstorm rolled in overnight and we got two feet in the high mountains and a couple inches down on the valley floor. This weeping willow hasn’t started to turn yellow or drop its leaves yet and made an interesting contrast against the high mountain pines covered in snow. The elevation difference is about 5,000 feet.
Kirk > 10/20/07 – Yee Haw! Sean was invited to go to the Sadie Hawkins dance and got dressed up like a cowboy. He looks like the real thing because he is so tall and thin. He has my snake skin cowboy boots on that I’ve had since 1986. The hairy thing at Sean’s feet is Chip, Kristen and Logan’s little dog.
Kirk > 10/19/07 – The next night American Fork made up for their JV loss the night before stomping on PG. This was the only game the PG varsity team lost all year in the regular season. The JV went undefeated. You can see Sean (99) standing just left of the 50-yard marker. The varsity team is co-regiion champs and now will play in the state championship. GO VIKINGS!!!
Kirk > 10/18/07 – This is Sean in his JV game against American Fork. Sean had just caught a long pass and ran it almost 30 yards before being tackled at the one-yard line. The next play they scored. PG won the game easily.
Kirk > 10/17/07 – This photo has been a subject I’ve shot before and is now one in a series of four images. See 2/1 for winter, 4/1 for early spring and 4/14 for late spring. I didn’t realize I missed a summer shot when the leaves have turned from green to red all summer, not just in the fall. Oops.
Kirk > 10/16/07 – We finally got a hard freeze and my big hosta in the front yard decided it was done for the year. This is one of my favorite plants in the yard. Check out the image for 6/29 when it was at its prime.
Kirk > 10/15/07 – Some of the employees decided to decorate over the weekend. This is my end of the building.
Kirk > 10/14/07 – I love it when I find something cool in my own back yard. I don’t know where this ivy on the fence came from but I noticed it a couple weeks ago when it was still green. With the cool weather it is turning red. We had a little rain so when it stopped I went out to shoot this image while everything was still wet making the colors very vivid
Kirk > 10/13/07 – I liked the texture of this tall dry grass. It is a special grass used in landscaping in commercial property and around golf courses. It fills in quickly and grows very tall adding nice contrast to the flowers and trees.
Kirk > 10/12/07 – It was UEA weekend so I took the day off and went fishing with Sean and my dad at Strawberry. It was a wonderful day and we caught 18 nice trout. Sean caught the biggest one. He’s holding it here.
Kirk > 10/11/07 – I thought this pinecone was unique so it earned a spot in my project 365. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one like this.
Kirk > 10/10/07 – This photo was by request. The building out my office window is nearing completion. If you want to see the same building in early construction check out my shot for April 5th.
Kirk > 10/9/07 – I don’t think of fall as the time of year for flowers and bees but I guess the fall flowers have to be pollinated just like the flowers in the spring
Kirk > 10/8/07 – This image of Timpanogos was shot from my office building at the mouth of Provo Canyon. The view from the north end of our floor is spectacular. This was actually shot out the windows of the third floor.
10/22/07 – We got a new grandpuppy and Chip got a new brother. Late last night Logan and Kristen drove to Paul, Idaho to buy this 8-week-old dog.
